Thursday was a bad day for my plants. The wind was so strong, causing me to remove 4 pea stalks The choy sums and bush beans are also affected by it, but at least no damage thus far. One spring onion leaf was also folded. When I knew about it, I immediately supported the remaining [...]

The first ever white T-shirt I got from TopCoder.
So I’ve harvested some more bok choy and leaves, and soon I’ll have to harvest the whole row because they are bolting. This is a bit disappointing, since this means that the harvest window for them is less then 1 month. The flowers smell very nice, by the way, and they attract bees. At some [...]
This morning I replanted a tomato, and also the rosemary and the chili plants I bought on Monday. I noticed that the tomato “seedling” has some flower buds already! That’s pretty early, considering the seeds germinated rather late. So if everything goes well, I should get some ripe tomatoes in a month’s time. Peas and [...]
I simply need to do a quick update. I’m really surprised by how fast a pea pod can grow! I mean just this morning, the flower petals were still there, attached to the flower stem, and when I came back from campus, what I found is that the flower has dropped to the ground and [...]
Well just a short update, I’ve replanted most of the tomato and bellpepper seedlings. Took a couple shots of the pea flower as well. Hope the rest of the flower buds bloom soon. Got as well a few extra plants to take care of from friends who are in vacation. I have no idea how [...]
So, I threw out the peppermint plant away. No hope of it surviving. I don’t know what I’ve done wrong with that one. I was rather happy that some new shoots started to pop up again after the winter hibernation, but none lasts more than 2 pairs of leaves. As per law of container gardening [...]
Got to see the first fava bean flower coming out from one of the 3 plants. The others also have some flower buds ready to bloom. Nice that they start flowering at the same time. On one pea plant I also see some flower buds. The other two haven’t produced any buds yet, because I [...]
Tasted kinda sweet after blanching the spinach in hot water. Used it in the baked pasta, and enjoyed it a lot. In place of the old spinach plants, I’ve planted new seeds. Hopefully there’s enough nutrition in the soil so I can get similar or better quality harvest.
