Oberstdorf. That was the destination after two lectures by Kučera and Myers and a brief discussion in the morning. Lunch were served at the usual time, which wasn’t supposed to be the case on that Wednesday. In the end, people rushed through lunch and the departure to Oberstdorf was delayed by 5 minutes or so. The jazz concert was amazing. The band that entertained us, Quadro Nuevo, consisted of a harpist (as a guest, since the guitarist had a traffic accident), an accordion player, a wind player and a bass/percussion player. A new week, and 6 more days of lectures. My knees are very sore from yesterday’s hiking and I’m also feeling a bit weak (starting to catch flu apparently). Having a room on the 4th floor doesn’t help as well, but life needs to go on. I feel kinda subdued, nevertheless, and find it hard [...]

The first week have finished, and Mr. “I am sleepy” has departed. Kinda miss him, as he makes the discussion quite lively with all the “I have a question for Mr. Andrei Sabelfeld” he asked. His lectures were quite interesting, albeit on the fast side. His lectures introduce abstract interpretations and give quite strong attacks [...]

Second day have finished. Got to know a few more people, including David Pereira from Porto, who turns out to know quite a lot of people that I know during my study in Lisbon and also in the same yeargroup as Pedro Ribeiro.
